Jimmy Cavallo
Jimmy Cavallo is the original house rocker, a rhythm & blues pioneer who helped usher in the age of rock & roll. Jimmy began rockin’ in 1948 and helped pioneer the sound that became known as rock & roll with his wailing sax and gritty vocals. Jimmy Cavallo was rock & roll before Elvis, Buddy Holly and Bill Haley. Jimmy appeared and sang the title track to the Alan Freed movie, “Rock, Rock, Rock” and was the first white rock & roller to appear at the famed Apollo Theatre in Harlem in December of 1956, months before Buddy Holly.
